Note : At Arborea, realm of the great forest, a peaceful tribe have built their wooden houses. But their harmonious lives are often interrupted by the attacks of Petra’s soldiers who come looking for slaves. When Radames the daring son of the General of Petra’s army falls in love with Aida, the courageous daughter of the King of Arborea, he tries to put an end to the conflict between the two peoples. “The music is composed by Morricone, and perfectly underlines the various situations, and the passing from one scene to another, the settings and the various atmospheres. The voices chosen to interpret the various themes are particularly well chosen: Filippa Giordano, picked by Morricone himself gives her voice to Aida, Peppe Servillo (leading voice of the Piccola Orchestra Avion Travel) interprets Radames and Helena Hellwig (just eighteen, and a new talent discovered by Caterina Caselli), interprets Amneris. The closing song is sung by Giordano again and Mick Hucknall (voice of Simply Red). Aida degli alberi (Aida of the Trees) is an epic story which focuses on the environment: the conflict of the natural world of Arborea and the technological world of Petra, is the focal point of the narration. The colours are spectacular, the 3D images truly amazing, and the characters innovative. They are neither humans nor animals, but a rather indefinable mix”.
